Job Title: SAP S/4HANA ePPDS Functional Consultant / Lead
Role Objective
The SAP ePPDS Consultant will drive the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced planning and finite scheduling solutions. You will be responsible for transitioning legacy APO-PPDS or manual planning processes into the S/4HANA Embedded PP/DS environment to achieve synchronized, real-time production visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Design & Architecture: Lead Fit-to-Standard workshops to align business requirements with SAP Best Practices. Design end-to-end planning cycles from Long-Term Planning to Shop Floor Execution.
- Configuration & Implementation:
- Set up Advanced Planning parameters in Material Master and Resource Master.
- Configure Heuristics, Optimization Profiles, and Strategy Profiles for finite scheduling.
- Implement Alert Monitors and Exception Management workflows.
ws.
- Integration (CIF & Beyond): Manage the integration of master data (PDS, Resources) via the Core Interface (CIF) or the newer simplified S/4HANA integration modes.
- Detailed Scheduling: Design and configure the Detailed Scheduling Planning Board (DSPB) and the newer Fiori-based Monitor Production Scheduling Board.
- Advanced Features: Implement complex logic such as Block Planning, Campaign Planning, and Setup Matrix optimization to minimize changeover times.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ensure seamless integration with SAP IBP (Integrated Business Planning), MM (Materials Management), and PM (Plant Maintenance).
- Data Migration: Define strategies for migrating transactional data and complex Master Data (Production Data Structures - PDS) from legacy systems.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 5–10+ years in SAP PP/DS or APO. At least 2 full-cycle implementations of S/4HANA Embedded PP/DS.
- Core Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of MRP Live vs. Classic MRP.
- Expertise in PDS (Production Data Structures) vs. PPM.
- Deep knowledge of Optimization Engines (Genetic algorithms for scheduling).
- Tools: Proficiency in SAP Fiori apps for planning (e.g., Production Scheduling Board, Monitor Capacity).
- Methodology: Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology for S/4HANA deployments.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Information Technology. SAP Certification in S/4HANA Production Planning is highly preferred.
Preferred Soft Skills
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate complex manufacturing constraints (e.g., chemical cooling times, machine tooling limits) into system logic.
- Change Management: Experience coaching planners who are moving from Excel-based scheduling to automated, system-driven scheduling.
