Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead business growth for solar and energy projects in the Ahmedabad and surrounding areas.
The role involves lead generation, client acquisition, proposal closure, and coordination with internal technical teams.
Key Result Areas (KRAs)
Identify and develop new business opportunities in C&I Solar and allied energy solutions
Generate qualified leads through direct sales, channel partners, consultants and industry networking
Conduct client meetings, site visits and energy requirement assessments
Prepare and present techno-commercial proposals in coordination with presales and engineering teams
Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets
Build and maintain long-term relationships with industrial clients
Track sales pipeline, follow-ups and closures using CRM or internal trackers
Monitor market trends, competitor activity and policy changes relevant to renewable energy
Support contract finalization, documentation, and handover to execution teams
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of solar power projects and basic financial concepts
Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
Ability to explain technical concepts in simple business terms
Client-centric approach with strong follow-up and closing capability
Self-driven, target-oriented and capable of working independently
Good coordination skills with internal teams
Familiarity with Gujarat solar policies will be an added advantage
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management, or relevant field
26 years of experience in business development or sales in renewable energy / power / EPC / infrastructure
Experience in C&I client handling preferred
Ahmedabad market exposure is a strong plus
Two-wheeler / Four-wheeler with willingness to travel locally
