MEPZ Special Economic Zone, established in 1984 under the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, is a multi-product special economic zone. Located in the southern region, MEPZ covers Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and Export-Oriented Units (EOUs) across Tamil Nadu, the Andaman Islands, and the Pondicherry region. Focused on boosting exports while creating a business-friendly environment, MEPZ supports diverse industries and facilitates growth opportunities for both businesses and professionals within the zone.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Marketing Consultant based in Chennai. The Marketing Consultant at MEPZ SEZ will be responsible for driving investment promotion, outreach, and branding initiatives by positioning the SEZ as a preferred destination for businesses. The role involves engaging with domestic and international stakeholders, delivering structured investment pitches, facilitating participation in trade events and roadshows, and managing relationships with prospective and existing investors. The consultant will also act as a key interface to guide investors through SEZ policies, processes, and opportunities, ensuring seamless engagement and conversion.

In addition, the role focuses on designing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across digital and traditional platforms, building partnerships with industry bodies and government agencies, and leveraging data-driven insights to track performance and improve outcomes. The consultant will also contribute to strengthening internal processes by developing standard operating procedures, maintaining outreach and lead databases, and ensuring efficient coordination to achieve measurable impact.

Qualifications

  • Full-time MBA/PGDM in Marketing or International Business from a recognized university (minimum 60% aggregate)
  • 1–5 years of relevant experience in marketing, consulting, or related roles (agency, government, trade bodies, or similar environments preferred)
  • Strong skills in marketing, lead generation, stakeholder engagement, and data analysis
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, result-oriented environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in English and Tamil preferred
  • Proven capability in managing B2B/B2G interactions or large-scale marketing/events is an added advantage
  • Energetic, proactive, and capable of delivering high-quality outputs within tight timelines
