Job Title: HR Manager (Generalist) — Retail & D2C

Location: Gurugram, Haryana (On-site)

Kusvaa is a women-led Indian fashion brand celebrating India's textile heritage through handblock prints and ethnic wear for women, kids, and men. With retail stores across Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, and Vadodara, a fast-growing online store, and a social media community of 260K+, we're scaling quickly — and we need someone to build the people function that grows with us.

The Role

As our HR Manager, you'll be the first dedicated HR hire and will own the full people function end-to-end — from hiring retail store teams and corporate staff to building the policies, processes, and culture of a growing consumer brand.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end recruitment across retail (store managers, sales staff) and corporate roles (design, marketing, operations, e-commerce)
  • Manage onboarding, documentation, and employee lifecycle processes
  • Run payroll inputs, attendance, and leave management; ensure statutory compliance (PF, ESI, Shops & Establishments Act, labour laws across multiple states)
  • Design and implement HR policies, appraisal systems, and incentive structures for store and corporate teams
  • Handle employee relations, grievance redressal, and engagement initiatives across locations
  • Build training programs for retail staff on customer experience and brand values
  • Set up and manage HRMS/HR tech tools as we scale

What We're Looking For

  • 4–8 years of HR generalist experience, ideally in retail, fashion, D2C, or a multi-location consumer business
  • Hands-on recruitment experience for frontline/retail roles at volume
  • Working knowledge of Indian labour law and multi-state compliance
  • Comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving founder-led environment — you build systems, not just run them
  • Strong communication in English and Hindi
  • MBA/PGDM in HR preferred but not mandatory
