Job Description: Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Consultant Finance
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Consultant Finance to lead functional solution design, implementation, and support for the Finance modules within D365. The ideal candidate will have strong finance domain knowledge combined with hands-on experience configuring and deploying F&O in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Gathering & Solution Design
- Work with business stakeholders to understand finance processes (GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash & Bank, Budgeting, Project Accounting, Cost Accounting, Tax, etc.)
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and solution designs.
- Conduct fit-gap analysis and propose best-practice solutions aligned with D365 Finance capabilities.
2. System Configuration & Implementation
- Configure Dynamics 365 F&O Finance modules based on business requirements.
- Set up chart of accounts, posting profiles, workflows, financial dimensions, fiscal calendars, and reporting structures.
- Support data migration activities, including mapping, validation, and reconciliation of financial data.
3. Testing & Deployment
- Prepare functional test cases and manage UAT with business users.
- Work with technical teams for integrations (API/dual-write) and customizations.
- Support go-live preparations, cutover activities, and post-go-live stabilization.
4. Support & Continuous Improvement
- Provide L2/L3 functional support for Finance modules.
- Analyze process issues and recommend improvements or enhancements.
- Train business users on new functionality, features, and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- 23+ years of experience as a functional consultant in Dynamics AX / D365 Finance & Operations.
- Strong finance domain expertise:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable/Receivable
- Fixed Assets
- Cash & Bank
- Budgeting
- Financial Reporting
- Project/Cost Accounting (optional but preferred)
- Experience in implementing end-to-end Finance modules in D365 F&O.
- Knowledge of Financial Reporting tools (FR, Power BI, Management Reporter).
- Understanding of integrations (OData, DMF, dual-write) and data management framework.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (SCM, HR, Manufacturing).
- Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate.
- Experience working in global rollouts, multi-company, multi-currency environments.
- Exposure to Agile project methodologies.
- Experience in Finance process transformation or shared services.
