Job Summary:

  • Lead Generation & Client Development Identify prospects, manage the lead pipeline, convert enquiries into mandates, and represent the firm at events and conferences.
  • Client Experience & Operations Own theWe are looking for a driven, commercially minded Business Development Manager to join Maheshwari & Co., a full-service law firm with practices spanning corporate law, dispute resolution, intellectual property, energy, and international advisory. This role goes beyond lead generation - you will be the connective tissue between the firm's legal expertise and its market presence, owning the full BD lifecycle from prospect identification to client onboarding, and contributing meaningfully to the firm's overall business strategy.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  •  Corporate practice inbox, manage onboarding, coordinate across teams, and ensure smooth billing and retainer follow-ups.
  • Market Intelligence & Strategy Track industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments. Identify cross-sell opportunities across M&Co and MCo Advisory Services. Support pitches and proposals for the Managing Partner.
  • Content & Thought Leadership Manage the firm's LinkedIn presence, coordinate legal updates and articles with lawyers, and handle rankings submissions (Chambers, Legal500, IBLJ).
  • International Client Development Support inbound mandates through the firm's Germany, Japan, and USA desks. Research target international organisations and map outreach opportunities for cross-border work.
  • Business Strategy Support Work closely with senior management on revenue growth, BD reporting, and developing the firm's long-term client acquisition and retention strategy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Communications, or a related field
  • 3–6 years in business development, client management, or sales - preferably in legal or professional services
  • Demonstrable track record of lead conversion and client relationship management
  • Strong command of written and spoken English; a second Indian language is an advantage
  • Confident, presentable, and composed in high-stakes client interactions
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple workstreams without close supervision
  • Familiarity with legal industry structure, terminology, and client expectations
  • Experience with LinkedIn, CRM platforms, or content marketing is a strong plus
