Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Business Development Manager to drive business growth across domestic and international markets for our Organic and Conventional product portfolio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating new business, managing key customer relationships, coordinating order execution, and ensuring compliance with organic certification standards while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Generate new business opportunities across domestic and international markets through prospecting, networking, cold calling, and client meetings.
- Manage the complete sales cycle—from lead generation and product sampling to price negotiation, order closure, and post-sales support.
- Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to the company's revenue growth.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers, distributors, and channel partners.
International Business Development
- Drive sales in international markets, particularly the EU and US.
- Identify and develop new export opportunities while expanding the existing customer base.
- Participate in international trade fairs, exhibitions, and business development events to generate leads and strengthen market presence.
Product Promotion
- Promote the unique selling propositions (USPs) of the company's Organic product range, including sustainability, chemical-free cultivation, and farm-level traceability.
- Position the Conventional product range as a cost-effective solution based on customer requirements.
Market Research & Strategy
- Conduct market research to identify emerging consumer trends, flavor preferences, pricing benchmarks, and competitor activities.
- Provide market intelligence and recommend strategies to improve product positioning and sales performance.
Customer Relationship Management
- Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure high customer satisfaction and retention.
- Resolve customer complaints related to product quality, logistics, or delivery in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain regular communication with customers to understand evolving business needs.
Order Execution & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate closely with Production, Quality Assurance (QA), and Logistics teams to ensure timely order execution and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor order progress and proactively address any operational challenges.
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure timely preparation and maintenance of sales documentation, contracts, export documents, and customer records.
- Follow up on payments and ensure timely collections.
- Maintain complete documentation for Organic products in compliance with USDA Organic, EU Organic, NPOP, and other applicable certification standards to ensure traceability and chain-of-custody requirements.
Travel
- Travel extensively (up to 50%) for customer meetings, market visits, exhibitions, and business development activities.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Agriculture, Food Technology, International Business, or a related field.
- MBA (Sales/Marketing/International Business) will be an added advantage.
- 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in Organic Foods, FMCG, Food Ingredients, Spices, Agricultural Products, Nutraceuticals, or related industries.
- Experience in handling international customers and export markets (EU/US preferred).
- Exposure to organic certification standards (USDA Organic, EU Organic, NPOP) is desirable.
