Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Executive with prior experience selling hardware-led engineering services, not off-the-shelf products. The role requires the ability to understand custom hardware projects, engage with technical stakeholders, and drive business for project-based engineering engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for bespoke hardware and control system design services.
- Engage with founders, CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and operations leaders to understand technical challenges.
- Qualify leads for service-based, custom hardware projects (new design, redesign, reliability improvement).
- Coordinate with engineering teams to scope requirements and support technical proposals and commercial discussions.
- Manage the full opportunity lifecycle from first contact to deal closure and handover.
- Maintain a structured sales pipeline using CRM tools.
- Conduct market and account research to identify high-potential prospects.
- Support contract discussions, pricing alignment, and client onboarding.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 25 years of experience in business development or sales within the engineering services, product development services, or hardware consulting domain.
- Hands-on exposure to custom hardware projects, not just product distribution or retail sales.
- Ability to understand hardware architecture, control systems, manufacturing constraints, and development lifecycles at a functional level.
- Experience selling project-based or retainer-based engineering services.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with technical decision-makers.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote setup.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and standard business software.

- Experience working with industrial equipment, appliances, electronics, or embedded systems.
- Exposure to contract manufacturing, NPI, or reliability engineering discussions.
