Role Overview
We are hiring an experienced Video Editor with a strong background in podcast and long-form news editing. The ideal candidate should understand storytelling, pacing, and viewer retention, especially for YouTube and digital news audiences.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Juhu, Mumbai, working closely with anchors, producers, and the digital team.
Key Responsibilities
Podcast and Long-Form Editing
- Edit video podcasts, interviews, and panel discussions for YouTube and digital platforms
- Ensure smooth pacing, narrative clarity, and professional presentation
- Sync multi-camera footage and high-quality audio tracks
- Perform audio cleanup, noise reduction, and sound leveling
Short-Form Content Creation
- Create short, high-retention clips from long-form podcasts for:
- YouTube Shorts
- Instagram Reels
- X (Twitter)
- Identify strong soundbites, key moments, and viral-worthy segments
Visual and Brand Consistency
- Add lower thirds, name straps, headlines, and basic motion graphics
- Maintain consistent brand identity (fonts, colors, visual tone)
- Enhance visuals without compromising journalistic seriousness
Collaboration and Workflow
- Work closely with editorial and production teams
- Manage multiple projects under tight newsroom deadlines
- Follow editorial sensitivity required for political and current-affairs content
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 37 years of professional video editing experience
- Strong command of Adobe Premiere Pro (mandatory)
- Working knowledge of After Effects for basic motion graphics
- Experience with audio editing and cleanup tools (Adobe Audition or equivalent)
- Prior experience in podcast editing (video + audio) is mandatory
- Clear understanding of YouTube formats, pacing, and audience retention
- Ability to handle politically sensitive and news-based content responsibly
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)
- Experience with digital news platforms, media houses, or podcast studios
- Understanding of YouTube SEO-friendly video structure
- Familiarity with multi-camera studio podcast setups
- Experience repurposing long-form content into short, viral clips
