Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unit People Business Partner to join our team at Titan's factory in Chikkaballapura, Karnataka. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources and experience in managing a large workforce in a factory setting. As a Unit People Business Partner, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with the company's overall goals and objectives. You will also act as a liaison between the factory management and employees, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering: Employee Relations:
- Maintain regular employee connect and manage any escalations or grievances raised by employees in accordance with the guidelines.
- Conduct investigations into allegations such as harassment, fraud, etc., following the principles of natural justice and prepare reports detailing the findings and conclusions.
- Undertake disciplinary actions in consultation with senior stakeholders and implement them as per the prescribed guidelines.
- Ensure regular shop-floor interactions and maintain consistent connects with employees at all levels, including off-roll employees and trainees.
- Review employee engagement scores and support function heads in developing action plans based on the results.
- Provide inputs for evaluating reward nominations by assessing the business impact to support the decision-making process.
- Conduct employee exit conversations when required, to understand the reasons for exit or attempt retention and recommend appropriate actions based on relevant findings.
- Implement unit-specific employee engagement initiatives in coordination with the team.
- Ensure adherence to the R&R policy and confirm that employees are rewarded based on defined parameters.
- Ensure all welfare activities are executed as per the plan and manage any related escalation as required
Business Partnering: Contact Labour & Trainees Management:
- Provide contract manpower requirements to the contractor/agency based on the needs gathered from the business as per the approved business plan.
- Evaluate the candidates sourced by the contractor and select those who best fit the requirements.
- Handle the onboarding of contract employees into the plant and ensure they are acquainted with the role and the organisation.
- Monitor daily attendance and coordinate with the contract agency to take necessary action in cases of deviations or absenteeism.
- Review vendor invoices against recorded attendance and inform the Finance team for payment processing.
- Ensure the vendor adheres to all statutory guidelines, including payment of gratuity, minimum wages, PF, etc.
- Identify and source the required trainees under the NATS and NAPS schemes from nearby localities or institutions for apprenticeship engagement.
- Identify and source the required candidates for internal Learn and Earn programs and ensure their proper engagement.
- Monitor trainees daily attendance and take necessary action in case of deviations or absenteeism.
- Ensure accurate management of off-roll and trainee data and facilitate an effective and smooth onboarding process from Day 1.
- Ensure regular and periodic connects with agency in‑charges and site supervisors.
- Ensure periodic connects and engagement activities with trainees (Apprentices and Learn and Earn program participants).
- Ensure effective and maximized utilization of available digital portals and tools for managing the contract labour management process.
- Ensure adherence to all statutory provisions under the Factories Act and Contract Labour Act and ensure timely renewal of licenses and filing of documents as per guidelines.
Business Partnering: Employee Connects:
- Ensure regular connects with employees through one‑on‑one interactions on the shop floor, regional visits and connects at Kolkata and CFL locations.
- Coordinate Interface sessions and employee connects.
- Track action points, grievances and suggestions arising from employee connects.
- Ensure closure of connect-related action points within the agreed timelines.
Compliance Manangement:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legislations for all manufacturing and CFL locations including the Shops and Establishments Act.
- Ensure proper physical maintenance of compliance-related documents, records, registers and legal files.
- Ensure compliance by vendors, agencies and apprentices in line with statutory and organizational requirements.
- Liaise with Government officials to ensure that all required compliances are in place.
- Ensure timely filing of returns related to Labour Laws, Factories Act and the Shops and Establishments Act as per statutory timelines.
- Handle all internal and external audits and assessments related to this role.
- Ensure compliance with the I‑Assure portal within the prescribed due date.
- Regular and periodic connects with agencies and statutory or regulatory authorities.
- Champion the compliance activities of the manufacturing facilities and shops and establishments
Time Office & Payroll Management:
- Manage manpower provisioning through the agency as per the manpower budget for ISCM and CFL, including controlling manpower entry and exit and ensuring adherence to the Bluetree/Accent process for off‑roll employees.
- Ensure adherence to all time‑office activities for both on‑roll and off‑roll employees, including attendance and leave management, payroll inputs, salary payments, F&F processing and handling related grievances.
- Oversee the processing of agreements with manpower agencies and ensure timely payment of their bills.
- Manage welfare provisions for ISCM, Labs and CFL locations.
