Sr. Technician
Role Overview
Handson production technician responsible for highreliability electronics assembly on Aitech rugged products and boards. The role covers precision soldering, pressfit connector installation, conformal coating & masking, potting, and mechanical assembly under Class3 workmanship and aerospace quality requirements (IPCA610 / JSTD001; ESD discipline; FOD control).
Qualification
- Diploma in Electronics/Electrical or Mechatronics.

- Basic computer use for ERP/MIS data entry; exposure to SAP/ERP preferred.
- Strong discipline in ESD and safety practices; comfortable with microscopes, fixtures, presses, ovens, curing equipment, torque tools, and measurement instruments.
- At least 7-8 years direct experience in soldering, conformal coating & Assembly.
Skills/Experience:
- Soldering (throughhole & finepitch SMT rework) to IPCA610 Class3 workmanship and JSTD001 process controls; enforce FOD controls in all operations. IPC-7711/21 certified will be preferred.
- Pressfit connector installation using qualified press, bottom & flat top tools, alignment checks, and postpress inspection; maintain tool validation and apply Xray verification where required; update route card after each operation.
- Conformal coating execution, including masking of keepout zones and defect prevention; ability to work with QA on SCAR/CAR closures when needed.
- Masking proficiency (tapes, boots, liquid masks) with clean edges, proper cure, and removal techniques to avoid residue/undermask defects.
- Potting & encapsulation: resin prep, degassing, controlled dispense, cure profiles, and voidfree results per WI/SOP; adherence to JSTD001 cleaning requirements.
- Mechanical assembly of boards/enclosures (fasteners, torque, thermal interfaces, staking) per conductioncooled enclosures
- Inprocess & final inspection: visual criteria, continuity/shorts checks, dimensional verification, and documentation signoffs per QA instructions.
- ESD discipline, cleanroom/controlled environment behaviour, and recordkeeping (lot/serial traceability, traveller signatures, tool calibration records).
- Proven experience as team player within a multi-site environment
- Understanding of safety and equipment procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of aerospace materials, components, and equipment, including their handling, storage, and transportation requirements.
- Proficiency in production related activities SAP/ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
- Manufacturing Process: Understanding of Manufacturing Processes, Manufacturing Time Study, Process Optimization.

Desired Skills:
- AS9100D awareness; ISO 9001:2015 quality mindset.
- Experience with thermal pads/Paste, CTQs, and following customer assembly drawings (top/bottom, conformal coating maps).
- Exposure to environmental testing (vibration, shock, TVAC, humidity) and ATE handling/debugging.
- Familiarity with mechanical metrology, torque/angle tools, and fixture setup for precision pressfit operations.
- Time management skills to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Execute production tasks (soldering, pressfit, coating/masking, potting, mechanical assembly) strictly per Aitech WI/SOPs and customer drawings; comply with IPCA610 Class3 and JSTD001 requirements.
- Pressfit operations: Verify tooling alignment, apply controlled force, perform postpress inspection/Xray as specified, and record route card updates for each step.
- Conformal coating & masking: Ensure accurate masking of keepout areas, defectfree application, and participate in SCAR/CAR investigations with QA when defects are detected.
- Potting/encapsulation: Prepare materials, control mix ratios/cure, conduct postcure cleanliness to meet JSTD001 acceptance; document batch/lot details.
- Mechanical assembly: Install hardware and thermal interfaces, apply specified torque, and verify fit/form/function; complete final inspection records.
- ESD & FOD control: Maintain compliance with SOW requirements for FOD prevention, cleaning, and postprocess residue checks—no ultrasonic cleaning; meet specified cleanliness limits.
