Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance & Process Control
  • Ensure end-to-end quality control for Tap Hole Clay products across all stages of manufacturing.
  • Monitor raw material quality, validate supplier inputs, and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Oversee critical processing parameters and maintain operational consistency.
  • Conduct routine and special quality checks to ensure product reliability and performance.
  • Testing & Standard Compliance
  • Implement and adhere to testing protocols based on industry standards and internal guidelines.
  • Analyze results from laboratory tests and production trials to identify deviations.
  • Prepare and maintain testing documentation, certificates, and compliance reports.
  • Defect Analysis & Corrective Action
  • Investigate quality deviations, customer complaints, and internal non-conformances.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Work closely with Production and R&D to improve product consistency and reduce defects.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Coordinate with Production for process optimization and operational improvements.
  • Align with R&D for new product trials, performance evaluations, and reformulations.
  • Liaise with Procurement for supplier quality assessment and raw material improvements.
  • Support the Sales team with technical queries, customer feedback, and product performance insights.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Drive QPC-related improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce cost, and optimize processes.
  • Contribute to standardization activities, documentation updates, and quality audits.
  • Promote best practices and ensure compliance with all safety and QPC requirements.

Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Ceramic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • 7–12 years of experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance within refractory manufacturing (preferably Tap Hole Clay or allied products).
  • Strong understanding of raw materials, formulation, and refractory processing techniques.
  • Experience in testing standards, quality systems, and manufacturing process control.
