Role Description The Student Intern role at SortyX is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. Interns will support day-to-day operations related to smart bin deployments, data collection, and basic analysis of waste management metrics. Responsibilities may include assisting with product testing, documenting findings, preparing reports, and coordinating with internal teams to improve system performance and user experience. Interns will also help with research on sustainability practices, contribute to process documentation, and support presentations or materials for clients and stakeholders. This role offers hands-on exposure to AI-powered hardware, IoT-based systems, and real-world sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications

• Strong interest in sustainability, environmental management, and technology-driven solutions for waste reduction.
• Basic understanding of data analysis, reporting, and the use of spreadsheets or similar tools.
• Ability to document processes clearly, prepare summaries, and support preparation of presentations or reports.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams on-site.
• Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program (e.g., engineering, environmental science, management) or equivalent, with availability for full-time on-site work in Chennai.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to learn about AI, IoT, and smart infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior internship, project, or campus experience related to sustainability, technology, or operations is a plus.
