Project Description:

We're looking for administration and support operations across on-premises and cloud environments (Azure/AWS/GCP). The role involves production support, performance tuning, high availability configuration, automation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor reports, alerts, SQL Server jobs, disk usage, service status, and logs.
  • Handle tickets related to database performance, access requests, failures, and configuration issues.
  • Create logins, assign permissions, manage orphaned users, and ensure consistent security policies.
  • Perform database refreshes across environments (Prod/Dev/QA).
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot high-availability setups.
  • Analyze blocking/deadlocks and optimize slow-running queries.
  • Develop custom monitoring scripts for fragmentation, statistics, growth trends, and performance metrics.
  • Support daily standups, weekly team meetings, and cross-team coordination.

Mandatory Skills Description:

  • 5+ years of hands-on SQL Server administration and production support experience.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server installation, service packs, upgrades, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and HA/DR.
  • Proficient in T-SQL, DDL, and DML, PowerShell, Python.
  • Exposure to ETL and reporting tools.
  • Experience with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow and familiarity with ITIL processes.
  • Exposure to other DBMS platforms (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DB2) is a plus.
  • Experience with Azure/AWS/GCP database environments.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

  • Certifications in database technologies are an added advantage.
