Job Description

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in social media marketing, within the digital news industry.
  • Fluency in written and verbal Marathi language.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and their unique audiences.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging and informative social media content.
  • Proven ability to create high-quality visuals (e.g., graphics, images) or collaborate effectively with designers.
  • Experience with social media analytics tools and the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
  • A passion for current events and a deep understanding of the digital news landscape.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and a collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the editorial team to identify high-performing content and develop creative social media strategies to promote it effectively.
  • Craft compelling social media posts (text, visuals, videos) in line with Lokmat's voice and target audience preferences.
  • Stay on top of social media trends and leverage them to create content that sparks conversation and drives audience engagement (likes, comments, shares).
  • Experiment with different content formats (articles, videos, live streams, polls) to see what resonates best with your audience.
  • Manage and monitor our social media presence across relevant platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, Snapchat etc.).
  • Develop and implement targeted social media growth strategies to attract new followers and expand our reach.
  • Analyze social media performance metrics to track audience demographics, engagement rates, and content performance.
  • Identify areas for improvement and iterate on social media strategies based on data insights.
  • Collaborate closely with the editorial, marketing, and sales teams to ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels.
  • Generate regular reports that showcase the impact of social media efforts, including audience growth, engagement metrics, and website traffic driven from social media.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest social media algorithms and best practices for the news industry.
