Our Kolkata sales and growth team works closely with our Melbourne-based operations and installation teams to deliver a smooth, high-quality customer experience from first enquiry to completed installation.
We are now hiring one of our first key sales hires in Kolkata — a genuine growth opportunity for someone who wants more than just a job.
The right person will take ownership of the sales process end-to-end and, within 3–4 months, have the opportunity to step into a Team Lead role to help build, train, and lead their own team as the business continues to grow.
Role Overview
This is a ground-floor opportunity for an experienced sales professional who is ready to take ownership, set the standard, and grow into leadership quickly.
You will be the first human touchpoint for leads generated through our Meta and Google ad campaigns. Your job is to call, qualify, nurture, and close these prospects — guiding them through the benefits of government-backed energy upgrades — while coordinating with our Melbourne field team for site visits, quotes, and installations.
Once you've mastered the process (typically within 3–4 months), you will transition into a Team Lead, where you will hire, train, and manage a team of 3–4 Sales Development Representatives reporting to you.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Closing
- Call and engage inbound leads promptly after they are generated via Meta/Google lead forms and auto-synced to the CRM
- Clearly explain the VEU government rebate program and the value of our products in simple, compelling terms
- Qualify prospects, understand their needs, and guide them confidently through the sales funnel
- Handle objections effectively and close deals over the phone
- Coordinate with the Melbourne field team to schedule site visits and assessments
- Follow up with customers post-site visit to finalise quotes and confirm installations
- Follow up on payment plans and ensure timely collections from customers
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records after every interaction
- Consistently meet and exceed weekly and monthly KPIs for call volume, conversion rate, and revenue
Leadership & Team Building (from Month 3–4 onwards)
- Transition into the Team Lead role as the team scales
- Assist in hiring and onboarding new SDRs
- Develop and document call scripts, objection handling playbooks, and sales SOPs
- Train and coach junior team members on product knowledge, VEU rebates, and sales techniques
- Monitor team KPIs, call quality, and individual performance
- Report team performance to management and proactively suggest process improvements
- Serve as the key bridge between the Kolkata sales team and Melbourne operations
What We're Looking For
- 3–6 years of experience in telecalling, inside sales, or outbound B2C sales
- At least 1–2 years in a senior, mentor, or team lead capacity
- Prior experience selling to Australian, UK, or US customers is highly preferred
- Strong spoken and written English with a clear, confident communication style
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Experience building or contributing to sales scripts or SOPs
- Demonstrated ability to train, coach, or mentor junior sales staff
- Proficiency with CRM tools (HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce, or similar)
- Ability to explain technical or government rebate-related information in simple, relatable terms
- Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable working independently in a start-up-style environment
- Background in home improvement, energy, real estate, insurance, or utilities sales is a strong advantage
