This senior leadership role is responsible for driving enterprise-level growth through the development and management of high-value strategic client relationships. You will act as a trusted advisor to key accounts, shaping long-term commercial strategies and delivering integrated solutions that align with both client objectives and organizational revenue goals. The role requires strong executive presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across complex, matrixed environments. You will lead major sales initiatives, secure multi-year contracts, and expand strategic partnerships that strengthen market positioning. This is a high-impact role combining business development, consultative selling, and strategic account leadership. Accountabilities
- Develop and execute strategic business development and commercial plans to achieve short- and long-term revenue targets across assigned enterprise accounts.
- Lead strategic account planning for high-value clients, ensuring alignment between customer objectives and long-term business strategy.
- Drive expansion of strategic partnerships and alliances to support market penetration and revenue diversification.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities through market analysis, competitive intelligence, and customer insights.
- Lead executive-level sales engagements and position the organization as a long-term strategic partner.
- Acquire new strategic accounts while expanding share of wallet within existing key clients.
- Negotiate and secure high-value, multi-year contracts with senior client stakeholders.
- Provide strategic input to leadership on market positioning, go-to-market strategy, and portfolio growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with executive stakeholders across client organizations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in business development within Clinical Research, Pharma, or Biotech industries.
- At least 7 years in senior leadership roles managing strategic accounts and business development functions.
- Proven track record of achieving significant revenue targets and managing high-value enterprise clients.
- Strong knowledge of drug discovery and drug development principles.
- Excellent commercial acumen and financial understanding in a complex business environment.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and execution of business growth initiatives.
- Strong negotiation skills with direct experience engaging senior executive stakeholders.
- Proven ability to influence at all organizational levels with strong executive presence.
- Experience working effectively within matrixed, cross-functional global teams.
- Strong relationship management skills with a consultative, client-first approach.
