ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Senior Architect with 3-6 years of professional experience who can independently lead project components, mentor junior team members, and drive design excellence across all project phases from conceptualization through construction execution.
This role goes beyond design. You will take ownership of project delivery, guide the development of junior architects, act as a critical coordination link between design teams and site execution, and contribute to building a collaborative, accountable studio culture.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Lead small project teams, delegating tasks and reviewing outputs of junior architects and interns
- Develop architectural drawings and design packages from concept through construction documentation
- Translate client briefs into clear, climate-responsive design solutions
- Prepare and issue drawings using AutoCAD, Rhino (Revit knowledge is a plus)
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, landscape, and other consultants
- Conduct site visits, resolve on-site design challenges, and maintain design intent during construction
- Ensure drawings comply with building codes, NBC standards, and green building norms
- Perform quality checks to ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and buildable
- Revise drawings based on client feedback, RFIs, and site requirements
- Mentor junior architects through technical guidance and design feedback
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and timelines to senior architects
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.LEADERSHIP & TEAM MANAGEMENT
- Plan and manage daily work allocation for junior architects and interns
- Review drawings and models to ensure design quality and technical accuracy
- Support healthy team workflows by identifying bottlenecks and escalating issues when needed
- Foster a collaborative, learning-driven studio environment
2. CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
- Contribute to architectural concepts that respond to climate, context, function, and user needs
- Develop design narratives, massing studies, spatial layouts, and architectural strategies
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and design charrettes with senior leadership
3.DESIGN DETAILING & DOCUMENTATION
- Lead preparation of detailed working drawings, construction documentation, and schedules
- Ensure documentation meets KlimArt's quality standards and project requirements
- Develop architectural details that are both beautiful and buildable
- Maintain well-organized, structured project files
4.COORDINATION & EXECUTION SUPPORT
- Act as primary coordination point between design teams, consultants, and site execution teams
- Review shop drawing submittals with guidance from Project Architects
- Support site supervision and help resolve field conditions while maintaining design intent
- Make regular follow-ups with vendors, consultants, and clients
5.CLIENT & STAKEHOLDER INTERACTION
- Interact with clients to understand requirements and present design developments
- Document client discussions and ensure alignment with project objectives
- Communicate project progress and technical solutions clearly and professionally
6.SUSTAINABILITY & TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
- Apply climate-responsive design principles and passive strategies across all project phases
- Understand sustainable materials, construction methods, and basic MEP coordination
- Stay updated on building regulations, NBC codes, and green building certifications (IGBC, GRIHA, LEED)
- Maintain knowledge of building norms, material specifications, and market costing
7.COMMUNICATION & REPORTING
- Provide regular updates to senior architects on project status, team progress, and risks
- Assist in aligning deliverables with project schedules and milestones
- Keep project coordinators informed with daily/weekly progress reports
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Certification
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (B.Arch)
- Council of Architecture (CoA) India certification
- 3-6 years of professional experience in architectural practice
Technical Skills
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of Rhino and Revit is a bonus(highly desirable)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office Suite
- Strong experience in design development and construction documentation across all project phases
- Understanding of building codes, NBC standards, and green building certifications
Experience & Leadership
- Prior experience guiding junior architects or managing small project teams
- Hands-on site coordination and construction supervision experience
- Exposure to consultant management and multi-disciplinary coordination
- Experience on residential, institutional, or commercial projects (large-scale preferred)
- Ability to handle complete project lifecycles from concept to execution
Design & Portfolio
- Strong creative portfolio demonstrating design thinking and execution quality
- Understanding of climate-responsive design and passive strategies
- Keen eye for detail, proportion, materiality, and spatial quality
