Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic textile industry team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Accounting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions related to textile manufacturing, inventory, and sales.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other general ledger accounts.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including inventory valuation and cost accounting.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO, or weighted average) and ensure accurate stock records.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify potential shortages or excesses.
- Assist in physical inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Cost Accounting:
- Analyze production costs, including direct materials, direct labor, and overhead expenses.
- Calculate product costs and margins.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve profitability.
- Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file various tax returns, including GST, TDS, and income tax returns, considering specific tax implications for the textile industry.
- Stay updated on tax laws and regulations, including excise duty and customs duties.
- Coordinate with tax authorities and auditors.
- Internal Controls:
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial records, especially in areas like inventory management and production costing.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare financial reports and analysis for management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the textile industry, such as production efficiency, inventory turnover, and gross margin.
- Provide insights into financial performance and identify trends.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Audits:
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation.
- Address audit queries and recommendations, especially related to inventory valuation, production costs, and compliance with textile industry-specific regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the textile industry. concepts.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, ERP systems) and textile industry-specific software.
