Job Description

Job Title: SDET Engineer

Location: Bangalore / Pune

Experience: 6 to 12 Years

Employment Type: Full-time

Your Role:

As an SDET Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality software delivery through robust automated testing practices. The role requires strong expertise in API and UI automation, framework development, and CI/CD integration. You will work closely with cross-functional Agile teams to validate complex systems, ensure reliability, and support production environments on a rotational basis.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Testing & Framework Development:

  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts covering functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test scenarios.
  • Build and maintain scalable, reusable automation frameworks aligned with testing best practices.
  • Implement UI automation for web applications using Selenium and Playwright.
  • Develop and maintain automated API tests using REST Assured to validate backend services, data accuracy, and system reliability.

CI/CD & Quality Engineering:

  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Maven and GitHub Actions to support continuous testing.
  • Ensure continuous quality by enabling automated test execution and reporting within delivery pipelines.
  • Provide timely test execution status, detailed reports, and quality sign-off.

Testing, Debugging & Validation:

  • Perform comprehensive API testing for RESTful web services.
  • Validate system behavior, data integrity, and business logic using complex SQL queries.
  • Apply strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and prevent recurring defects.

Collaboration & Production Support:

  • Work effectively within Agile/Scrum teams and contribute across the entire testing lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to drive quality outcomes.
  • Provide rotational production support once or twice a month, including occasional weekend support.

Your Profile

  • 6–12 years of experience as a QA Engineer / SDET.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Java-based automation testing
  • Selenium and Playwright for UI automation
  • REST Assured for API automation
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting and database validation.
  • Solid knowledge of test automation frameworks and test design patterns.
  • Experience with Maven and GitHub Actions for CI/CD-driven automated testing.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and DOM.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Flexibility in work schedules, including periodic weekend production support.
  • Good to Have: Domain knowledge in Capital Markets & Wealth Management.
