Job Description: Retail Store Manager
Location: Gurugram, Haryana

Position Overview: We are looking for a results-driven and experienced Retail Store Manager to lead the launch and ongoing operations of our new retail store. As the face of Theater on the ground, you will own the full store experience - from team leadership and visual merchandising to revenue delivery and customer delight. This is a high-impact, high-visibility leadership role from day one, ideal for someone who combines operational rigour with a genuine passion for fashion retail.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Store Operations & Launch
- Lead all pre-opening activities including store setup, fixture planning, visual merchandising, and operational readiness.
- Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of all store operations including billing, security, housekeeping, and staff scheduling.
- Implement and uphold company SOPs, policies, and brand standards consistently.
- Manage daily and weekly reporting on store performance, footfall, and conversions.
2.Sales Performance & Revenue
- Own store sales targets and drive a performance-first culture across the team.
- Monitor and act on key metrics including daily revenue, UPT, ATV, and conversion rates.
- Identify opportunities to upsell, cross-sell, and improve basket size through on-floor coaching.
- Develop action plans for slow-moving categories and seasonal peaks.
3.Team Management & Development
- Manage a team of floor associates, cashiers, and department leads (15+ people).
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and skill-building initiatives.
- Foster a motivated, customer-first team culture aligned with the Theater brand ethos.
- Handle rostering, attendance management, and conflict resolution.
4.Inventory & Visual Merchandising
- Oversee inventory management including stock receiving, tagging, replenishment, and shrinkage control.
- Coordinate with supply chain and buying teams to ensure optimal stock levels and product availability.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards as per brand guidelines, including window displays and in-store zoning.
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
5.Customer Experience
- Handle escalated customer complaints and ensure prompt, empathetic resolution.
- Gather and relay customer feedback to the merchandising and product teams.
- Build local community engagement and loyalty through in-store events and activations.
6.P&L and Budgets
- Prepare and manage operational budgets including manpower, store supplies, and maintenance.
- Monitor store P&L and implement cost controls without compromising customer experience.
- Liaise with the finance team for monthly MIS and expense reporting.
Requirements
- 6+ years of progressive retail management experience, preferably in fashion, lifestyle, or experiential retail.
- Proven track record of managing large teams (15+ people) and consistently achieving sales targets.
- Strong understanding of retail P&L, inventory systems, and floor operations.
- Experience with new store openings or re-launches is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency with POS systems, retail management software, and basic analytics tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- High degree of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
