Role Overview

We're looking for Senior Python Engineers with strong backend development expertise to design, build, and implement production-ready APIs and real-world service integrations (e.g., Gmail, Jira).

This is a pure software engineering roleideal for developers who thrive on writing clean, scalable, and test-driven code.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement modular, production-grade APIs.
• Follow Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices using frameworks like pytest or unittest.
• Write clean, maintainable code and ensure robust documentation.
• Build scalable systems with efficient database schema design (SQL/NoSQL).
• Collaborate with global engineering teams on architecture and implementation.
• Take ownership of technical decisions and communicate trade-offs effectively.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
• Proven expertise in API design, development, and lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of system design and scalable architecture.
• Experience with TDD, database design, and performance optimization.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Bonus:

• Exposure to LLM function-calling or AI service integrations.

Engagement Details

• Commitment: 8 hrs/day with 4+ hrs overlap with PST
• Duration: 9 months (extendable)
• Type: Independent Contractor (no paid leave/medical benefits)
• Rate Range: Based on experience
