Job Description
- Responsible for procurement of instrumentation items such as transmitters, gauges, PLC panels, and DCS-related systems and services.
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities including enquiry generation, RFQ preparation, techno-commercial evaluation, negotiations, and Purchase Order (PO) release.
- Coordinate and conduct vendor meetings for technical discussions, commercial negotiations, pricing finalization, and delivery schedules.
- Develop, evaluate, and manage vendors, including identification of new suppliers and continuous performance monitoring of existing vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure optimal quality, delivery, and service levels.
- Ensure timely and effective delivery of goods and services in line with project and operational requirements.
- Forecast procurement requirements to predict future demand for materials, services, and purchase requisitions.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Projects, QA/QC, and Stores teams to ensure procurement needs are accurately defined and met.
- Finalize purchase details and approve purchase requisitions and Purchase Orders in accordance with company authorization limits.
- Track procurement KPIs and key metrics to drive cost reduction and process improvement.
- Analyze procurement data, conduct spend analysis, and prepare MIS and management reports.
- Work on SAP for PO creation, vendor master maintenance, GRN coordination, and procurement tracking (SAP MM preferred).
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, quality standards, and cost optimization initiatives.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong technical knowledge of instrumentation systems and components.
- Hands-on procurement experience with transmitters, gauges, PLC panels, and DCS-related services.
- Working experience in SAP (MM module preferred).
- Strong analytical skills with experience in spend analysis and KPI tracking.
- Good communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple procurement activities under tight timelines.
Qualification
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Instrumentation / Electronics / Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
