Job Description for Project Manager
Job Description:
This position has full ownership and responsibility for managing: New Product Development, New Business Development, and existing product update projects for DC Power / Modular Power Converters Product Line. Project Manager is required to format, organize, track, report and manage projects within the approved timeline and budget. This requires collaboration between resources that are assigned tasks across multiple projects from different project managers.
Project Management responsibility for projects from initialization through initial volume production. Progress will be managed through a gate process, with the Project Manager driving deliverables and gate reviews. Extensive collaboration with all departments within the organization to develop a committed and approved project plan and execute that plan within the approved project timeline and budget. Ownership of the project schedule and management of the resources assigned to the scheduled tasks. Work with functional resource managers to plan work assignments and resource requirements to achieve project targets. Align the assignment of resources according to the priorities set forth by the business leaders and provide impact scenarios to these leaders when priority changes are proposed. Ability to produce results from resources at all levels of the organization and mitigate issues to prevent project delays. Keen ability to provide project status and risk assessment accurately and concisely. Develop and execute action plans to address project risk and maintain delivery commitments. Manage product release status in alignment with gate progression. Driver of process improvements focused on dramatic reductions in project cycle times. Develop and deliver project status reports to the organization. 10% domestic and international travel.
