As a Principal Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Finance Technology Team which is aligned to Corporate Technology Division, you provide expertise and engineering excellence as an integral part of an agile team to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

Job responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deploymentof the Interest Rate Risk platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Architect cloud-native solutionsusing AWS services and modern DevOps practices.
• Develop robust, high-performance applications, focusing on data processing, analytics, and integration with enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams,including Risk, Finance, Data Engineering, and Infrastructure, to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Create durable, reusable software frameworksthat are leveraged across teams and functions
• Establish and enforce engineering best practicesfor code quality, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliancewith regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies.
• Stay abreast of industry trendsand emerging technologies to drive innovation within the platform.

• Influence leaders and senior stakeholdersacross business, product, and technology teams

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Expert in one or more programming language(s) including experience with data processing frameworks and libraries
• Deep expertise in AWS cloud services and architecture.
• Experience with microservices, API design, data pipelines and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines)
• Advanced knowledge of software application development and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
• Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex technology problems in one or more technical disciplines
• Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
