People Insights & Analytics Specialist

We are seeking a People Insights & Analytics Specialist to ensure reliable day‑to‑day delivery of HR reporting through Workday. This role builds, maintains, and configures Workday reports and dashboards, translates business needs into reporting solutions, and enables self‑service reporting capabilities for stakeholders. The position also supports high‑priority projects for senior management and the HR community, ensuring data quality, consistency, and continuous improvement in reporting processes.
Role Purpose & Scope
The People Insights & Analytics Specialist exists to deliver workforce‑related reports and insights that support data‑driven decision‑making across Lonza. The role covers end‑to‑end development of Workday reporting solutions, including configuration, testing, issue resolution, and continuous improvement. It ensures reporting outputs are accurate, consistent, and aligned with business priorities, while supporting the evolution of HR reporting offerings and technology approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver workforce‑related reports and insights to support organizational decision‑making.
- Partner with HR stakeholders and teams to clarify reporting needs and deliver fit‑for‑purpose outputs.
- Build, maintain, and configure Workday custom reports and dashboards (end‑to‑end development).
- Translate business requirements into reporting solutions.
- Perform ad‑hoc data analysis, aggregating and organizing large datasets.
- Research primary data sources, analyze key themes and trends, and provide recommendations.
- Support the development of new HR reporting offerings, content creation, and technology approaches.
- Provide HR reporting advisory services within the HR organization.
- Participate in test plan development, testing, implementation, training, and post‑implementation activities.
- Validate reporting outputs and ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy in daily operations.
- Support issue resolution and continuous improvement of Workday reporting processes and outputs.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong working knowledge of Workday report configuration and reporting (end‑to‑end development).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including handling structured HR data and analysis.
- Good knowledge of HR data and HR reporting processes.
- Experience with case management/ticketing solutions such as ServiceNow.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Service‑oriented working style and attitude.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven logic, decision‑making, and critical thinking abilities.
- High proficiency with Office 365 suite.
