Role Overview
As Operations Supervisor you run the floor for one branch: a team of loaders, pickers and dispatch staff, and the daily flow from goods receipt to the delivery truck leaving the gate. You report to the branch manager and are the person who knows, at any hour, what is late and why.
Day-to-day Responsibilities
- Plan each shift's picking, packing and dispatch against the order book and the vehicle schedule
- Supervise a team of 12 to 20 people, set daily targets, mark attendance and handle overtime requests
- Check inbound goods against purchase orders and raise shortages or damages the same day
- Run weekly cycle counts and keep stock records in the ERP matching what is on the shelf
- Coordinate with sales on urgent orders and with transporters on delays or misloads
- Enforce basic safety practice: PPE, forklift movement, stacking limits, clear aisles
- Send the branch manager a short end-of-day report on orders cleared, backlog and issues
What We Look For
- 3 to 7 years in warehouse, stores or dispatch operations, with at least 1 year supervising a team
- Comfort with an ERP or inventory system and working knowledge of Excel
- Practical grasp of GST invoices, e-way bills and delivery challans
- Calm under pressure and able to manage a shop-floor team firmly and fairly
- Working Hindi or the local language, plus workable English for reports
Good to Have
- Experience in industrial supplies, spares or FMCG distribution
- Exposure to barcode scanning or a warehouse management tool
- A diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain or engineering
