Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the SME for Manhattan WMS solution design, process fitment, and deployment across warehouse operations.
- Conduct requirement gathering workshops with business, operations, and IT stakeholders.
- Analyze inbound, outbound, inventory, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, yard, and related warehouse processes to define system requirements.
- Prepare functional specifications, solution design documents, configuration documents, test scenarios, and process flows.
- Configure Manhattan WMS to support client-specific operational requirements and recommended best practices.
- Coordinate with technical and integration teams for interfaces with ERP, TMS, MHE, automation, RF devices, printers, and external systems.
- Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect triage, and validation of end-to-end business processes.
- Assist in data validation, cutover planning, go-live readiness, hypercare, and post-production support.
- Deliver user training, create SOPs/work instructions, and support business adoption.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend system-driven optimization for warehouse efficiency and service levels.
Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, cycle counting, and inventory control.
- Experience in Manhattan WMS design, configuration, implementation, testing, and support.
- Knowledge of supply chain processes across retail, e-commerce, wholesale, or distribution environments.
Technical / Consulting Skills
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and configuration designs.
- Experience validating integrations and interface testing outcomes across enterprise systems.
- Strong documentation, defect management, stakeholder communication, and workshop facilitation skills.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methods and project tracking tools is often preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is commonly requested.
- 2+ to 4+ years of direct Manhattan WMS experience is frequently listed, while senior SME roles often expect deeper end-to-end implementation exposure.
- Participation in at least one full-cycle WMS implementation is commonly preferred.
- Experience in client-facing consulting, system integrator environments, or large-scale warehouse transformation programs is advantageous.
- Preferred Profile
- Experience with Manhattan Active WMS or other Manhattan product variants.
- Exposure to multi-site rollouts, global warehouse deployments, or brownfield/greenfield implementations.
- Knowledge of warehouse automation, labor management, RF, label printing, and shipping solutions.
- Manhattan product training or certification exposure is a plus, though public certification paths appear limited.
