Job Title: Manager – Business Development-Industry Penetration

Location: Thane, Mumbai-Maharashtra

Department: Sales

Reporting To: Head of Sales

India's consumer promotions market is a USD 5.4B+ category growing at 12–13% annually. Most industries are still scratching the surface. We want someone who sees that gap — and closes it.

Job Description

You will own new business acquisition and new market penetration — going deep into industries we already serve and breaking into verticals we have not yet cracked. This is a consulting role with a revenue target but to kickstart new verticals or new product portfolio altogether. This role demands high entrepreneur spirit, sublime business acumen, and out of the box thought.

You identify the right prospects, build the relationship from scratch, consult on the problem, present the solution, and close. You will carry a revenue target, work with our strategy and solutions team to craft winning proposals and be the first face of Buyerr to a new client.

Key Responsibilities

• Existing industries: Hunt and close.

– Go deeper in FMCG, Alcobev, Pharma, and FMCD — target Trade Marketing, CMO, and Brand teams at mid to large enterprises

– Build a pipeline of 30+ qualified prospects within the first 90 days

• New sectors: Expand into new verticals.

– Map opportunity in Auto, BFSI, Fintech, Retail/QSR, D2C, Health & Wellness, Agri-inputs

– Do the groundwork — identify the right buyer persona, map the budget cycle, build a tailored pitch

– Own the full BD cycle — prospecting to signed SOW. No hand-holding after intro.

• Solution framing: Consult first, sell second.

– Understand client's consumer/trade challenge before pitching

– Work with internal strategy team to build bespoke proposals — not templated decks

• Represent Buyerr at industry events, associations, marketing summits, and brand forums.

• Maintain a healthy CRM pipeline — accurate, updated, and forecast-ready.

• Provide market intelligence — competitor moves, new client budgets, emerging categories.

• Transition closed accounts to Account Management with clean handoffs.

Qualification & Characteristics

• 7–8 years of experience in B2B Sales or Business Development.

• Strong expertise in prospecting, solution selling, proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure.

• Experience engaging with marketing, trade marketing, or brand teams.

• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.

• Strong presentation, communication, and commercial acumen.

• Experience managing CRM pipelines and sales forecasting.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership and execution capabilities.

• Self-driven, consultative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong English and Hindi communication skills.

• Tier 2/Tier 3 MBA preferred.
