About The Function
The Corporate Legal Team at Godrej Industries Group plays a pivotal role in managing litigation, overseeing contract negotiations and providing strategic legal counsel on complex projects and transactions. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, the team ensures seamless legal support across the organisation. In addition to managing the intellectual property portfolio, the team also oversees indirect tax matters, safeguarding the company's interests and fostering business growth with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in transaction lifecycle management including managing external counsels, cross functional interactions and handling post transaction operational issues
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documentation for M&A transactions, projects and commercial transactions.
- Assisting in legal due diligence
- Drafting and reviewing policy documents and operating procedures.
- Advising on operational and business issues including contracts and commercial laws.
- Maintaining digital data base.
- Updating stakeholders on legal developments, new laws, judicial precedents, regulatory requirements and compliance issues
- Assisting in knowledge management.
Education
- Graduate/Post Graduate from an accredited law school
Experience
- Experience in a law firm or in-house legal team of a large group company / MNC
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of laws relating to commercial, consumer and contract laws.
- Expertise in drafting and strong aptitude for negotiation.
- Good analytical skills, commercial acumen and time sensitive
- Team player and excellent collaborator.
- Ability to effectively communicate, experience of working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
