About The Function

The Corporate Legal Team at Godrej Industries Group plays a pivotal role in managing litigation, overseeing contract negotiations and providing strategic legal counsel on complex projects and transactions. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, the team ensures seamless legal support across the organisation. In addition to managing the intellectual property portfolio, the team also oversees indirect tax matters, safeguarding the company's interests and fostering business growth with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Filing of trademarks, copyrights etc; attending to office actions and attending hearings
  • Handling prosecution, opposition, maintenance, and renewal of all patent, trademarks, copyright and design across jurisdictions
  • Handling counterfeit actions and its proceedings in across jurisdictions
  • Advising on intellectual property issues such as brand clearance, promotional material and domain name issues.
  • Drafting and negotiating IP related contracts and commercial contracts
  • Updation of intellectual property database and expense management
  • Assisting IP Lead in overall management of intellectual property portfolio including trademarks, patents, copyright, and design

Education

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Law

Experience

  • 5 -7 years PQE, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal team of a large company / MNC

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of intellectual property laws.
  • Good drafting and analytical skills, commercial acumen, and time-sensitive.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Team player having a strong desire to learn.
  • Driven to continuously improve own capabilities and impact
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills.
