Role Description
The Human Resources Manager will be overall responsible for overseeing all HR functions at SMF. This role is critical in supporting our mission by attracting, developing, and retaining a talented and resolute workforce. The HR Manager will be a strategic position, advising leadership on HR best practices and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment for all staff.

(a) Recruitment and Onboarding:
# Manage end-to-end recruitment cycles, including job postings, candidate sourcing, selection processes, and issuance of offer letters for all staff and key positions.
# Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates aligned with the organisation's values and requirements.
# Conduct structured induction programmes and ensure smooth and comprehensive onboarding experience for all new employees.
# Maintain accurate, updated, and role-specific job descriptions to support effective workforce planning and performance management.
(b) Employee Relations and Support:
# Serve as the primary point of contact for employee queries and concerns, providing timely guidance and support on all HR-related matters.
# Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation processes to foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment.
# Develop, implement, and periodically review HR policies and procedures to ensure their alignment with organisational values and statutory requirements.
# Advise management on employee relations matters, including performance management, grievance handling, and disciplinary processes, ensuring fair and consistent practices.
(c) Compensation and Benefits:
# Manage payroll processing in close coordination with the finance team to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
# Administer employee benefits programmes, ensuring timely communication and seamless implementation.
# Support salary benchmarking exercises and contribute to the development and periodic review of competitive and equitable compensation structures.
(d) Performance Management and Employee Development:
# Implement performance management and appraisal processes, ensuring transparent and constructive feedback.
# Identify employee development needs and coordinate capacity-building initiatives.
# Support managers in strengthening their leadership capabilities and effective performance management practices.
(e) Compliance and Record Keeping:
# Ensure compliance with all applicable Central and State Government labour laws, statutory requirements, and organisational policies.
# Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential employee records in both physical and digital formats.
# Prepare periodic HR reports, dashboards, and various analytics to support decision-making and organisational planning.
(f) Organizational Culture:
# Champion a positive and inclusive organisational culture that advances the Foundation's mission and core values.
# Promote and strengthen diversity, equity, and inclusion practices across the workplace through appropriate policies, initiatives, and capacity-building efforts.
Qualifications and Experience:
# Bachelor's degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, or a related discipline; professional certification in Human Resources or allied fields will be an added advantage.
# Minimum of five years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including at least three years in a managerial or senior HR capacity, preferably in the non-profit or development sector.
# Strong working knowledge of Government of India and applicable State employment laws, statutory compliances, and HR regulations.
# Proficiency in HRMS platforms and the Microsoft Office Suite.
# Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain effective relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders.
# Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.
# Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgement.
