Job Description

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the human resource functions of the hospital, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, statutory compliance, and training, thereby supporting a motivated, efficient, and service-oriented workforce in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment & Staffing

Manage end-to-end recruitment for clinical, paramedical, and non-clinical roles.

Coordinate with department heads to understand manpower requirements.

Ensure proper onboarding, induction, and background verification of new joiners.

Issuing letters

Complete Exit and F&F formalities.

2. Employee Records & Attendance

Maintain up-to-date employee records in HRMS/HIS systems.

Oversee biometric attendance, leave records, and shift scheduling.

Generate monthly attendance and payroll reports for the finance department.

Issuing memos, warning letters, penalties, etc, to the employees as a disciplinary action and maintaining its record.

3. Performance Management

Competency Mapping

Coordinate annual and probation performance reviews.

Assist HODs in setting KRAs and evaluating staff performance.

Implement corrective actions, appraisals, and recognition programs.

4. Employee Engagement & Welfare

Organize employee welfare activities, staff celebrations, and feedback sessions.

Address grievances and conduct counselling sessions when required.

Create a positive and respectful workplace culture.

5. Training & Development

Identify training needs and prepare the hospital training calendar.

Coordinate clinical and soft skills, Induction training, fire drills, BLS, infection control, Emergency Codes, etc.

Maintain training attendance, feedback, pre- and post-training tests, and competency evaluation records.

6. Statutory Compliance

Ensure compliance with labor laws, PF, ESI, MLWF, Gratuity, and other benefits.

Handle audits and documentation for NABH, JCI, and labour department inspections.

Maintain HR policies, SOPs, and disciplinary action protocols.

7. HR Reporting & MIS

Prepare monthly HR dashboards: recruitment status, attrition, headcount, etc.

Present HR metrics to management regularly for strategic planning.

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive HR data and files.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • MBA/PG Diploma in HR or Hospital Administration preferred
  • 510 years of HR experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setup
  • Familiar with hospital HR software and labour laws, and statutory compliances

HR operations and documentation expertise

Empathy and fairness in decision-making

Awareness of hospital working environment and accreditation norms (e.g., NABH)

Proficiency in MS Office and HRMS tools
