Reporting to: Operations Director

About the Role

Shubhanga Publications is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Logistics Manager to oversee our supply chain and distribution network. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the unique challenges of the publishing industrymanaging high-volume book distribution, seasonal demand spikes, and coordinating with a vast network of distributors and educational institutions.

We are looking for a professional who can blend technical logistics expertise with excellent communication skills to manage both internal teams and external vendors effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Supply Chain Management: Oversee the movement of books from printing units to warehouses, and finally to regional distributors or end-customers.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain 100% accuracy in stock levels. Implement systems to track Work in Progress (Printing) vs. Finished Goods.
  • Vendor & Courier Management: Negotiate contracts with freight forwarders and local couriers to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery.
  • Order Fulfillment: Ensure all orders (including bulk school orders and individual retail kits) are dispatched within the committed TAT (Turnaround Time).
  • Reverse Logistics: Efficiently manage the return of unsold or damaged stock from bookstores and distributors, ensuring proper credit notes are processed.
  • Process Optimization: Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for packing, labeling, and dispatching to minimize transit damage.
  • Reporting: Provide weekly reports on logistics costs, delivery timelines, and warehouse space utilization to the management.
Candidate Requirements
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years specifically within the Publishing or Printing industry. (Candidates without publication experience will not be considered).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and [Local Language, e.g., Marathi/Malayalam] to coordinate with transporters and internal sales teams.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP software (SAP/Oracle) and advanced MS Excel for data tracking.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to handle high-pressure situations, especially during the peak Back to School season (FebruaryApril).
