About the Company
We are seeking a seasoned Logistics Manager with specialized expertise in the transportation of Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials (AFR), specifically for the cement and other industry that uses AFR. This role is critical for finalizing and managing the end-to-end transportation of Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF), Biomass, Agri-waste, and other non-hazardous waste.

The ideal candidate must possess an extensive network of specialized transporters across India and have a proven track record in cost-effective rate negotiation and operational excellence within the cement sector.
Responsibilities
Transportation Strategy & Execution
- Finalize and manage the daily movement of AFR (RDF, Biomass, Agri-waste) from various sourcing points to cement plants.
- Optimize multi-modal transportation routes (road, rail, or inland water) to ensure the most cost-effective and timely delivery of materials.
- Manage high-volume inbound logistics for diverse waste streams, ensuring consistent supply to meet kiln thermal substitution targets.
Transporter & Vendor Management
- Leverage an existing, extensive network of Indian transporters experienced in handling bulk waste and biomass.
- Conduct rigorous rate negotiations and establish long-term contracts with fleet owners and 3PL providers.
- Continuously benchmark the transportation market to introduce new, cost-efficient partners and identify resource gaps.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all shipments comply with India's waste management rules, GST regulations, and transportation safety standards.
- Oversee the verification of transportation bills and ensure all necessary documentation (E-way bills, waste manifests) is accurate and filed.
Operational Monitoring
- Prepare and present monthly MIS reports on logistics costs, delivery performance, and transporter KPIs.
- Coordinate closely with procurement and production teams to align delivery schedules with the plant's daily fuel consumption needs.
Qualifications
- Experience: 810 years in logistics management, with a minimum of 5 years specifically handling AFR transportation for the cement industry.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of RDF, biomass, and non-hazardous waste characteristics (moisture content, calorific value, and handling requirements).
- Networking: A robust network of transporters and fleet operators across India capable of handling bulk or baled waste materials.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; an MBA in SCM/Operations is preferred.
Required Skills
- Expertise in rate negotiation and contract management.
- Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems and MS Excel for data-driven decision-making.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to manage a diverse vendor base.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the cement industry.
- Knowledge of waste management regulations.
