Job Description

About the Role:

11

The Team: The selected candidate will be part of S&P Global's Identity and Access Management (IAM) team, providing solutions architecture and thought leadership in driving our OKTA strategy and adoption. This role will focus on the integration of OKTA into our broader IAM infrastructure, ensuring seamless identity management across environments. You will be the face of our IAM team to business units, working towards a common framework for identity governance, ensuring secure access and compliance, and supporting strategic goals for identity management solutions.

The Impact: The candidate will drive the adoption of IAM strategies, with a strong focus on OKTA integration. In this role, responsibilities include designing, engineering, and implementing identity and access management solutions utilizing OKTA for identity lifecycle management, secure access control, and compliance. You will recommend and implement IAM solutions following S&P Global standards, ensuring that identity governance, role-based access control (RBAC), and identity federation are aligned with business use cases and applications.

What's in it for you: As an Engineer within the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team, you will drive IAM strategy through the technical architecture and design of OKTA solutions for business applications. This role will be a perfect fit if you are passionate about learning new technologies, enhancing security, and optimizing identity management practices. You will ensure that identity management systems-supported by robust OKTA frameworks-are designed to the highest security standards, enhancing business trust and transparency across the enterprise while aligning with our strategic objectives and supporting secure, compliant technology investments.

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Full Stack IAM Engineer to lead the end-to-end development of our Customer-facing Identity and Access Management (IAM) applications. In this role, you will bridge the gap between security and user experience, building the critical components of our identity platform-including login, registration, MFA, and user profile management. You will not only create highly responsive user interfaces using React and/or Angular, but you will also drive the backend integration strategies, leveraging deep knowledge of Auth0 or Okta APIs. A key focus of this role will be modernizing our authentication stack, specifically leading the implementation of Passkeys (FIDO2/WebAuthn) to deliver a secure, passwordless experience. You will collaborate closely with UI/UX designers and Product Managers to deliver a world-class, secure identity experience for our customers.

  • 8+ years of professional front-end development experience.
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one modern framework: React or Angular.
  • Proven experience building, testing, and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive, high-performance web applications using React and Angular for all user-facing identity flows.
  • Integrate front-end applications with our backend IAM services and APIs provided by platforms like Entra ID, Okta, or custom-built services.
  • Implement modern authentication and authorization protocols on the client-side, such as OAuth 2.0 (with PKCE) and OIDC.
  • Passwordless Implementation: Lead the integration of WebAuthn and FIDO2 protocols to build secure, user-friendly Passkey registration and authentication experiences.
  • Familiarity with the API endpoints and SDKs of modern Identity Providers (specifically Okta, Entra ID, or Auth0).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Direct experience working on an Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform or product is a major plus.
  • Hands-on experience implementing OAuth 2.0 or OIDC client-side flows.
  • Familiarity with the API endpoints and SDKs of okta
  • Automate the provisioning and management of our cloud infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
  • Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate them with AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).
  • Implement and manage comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting for identity applications using Splunk to ensure high availability and rapid incident response.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern development workflows.
