Role Overview:

As a Bid Manager in the Process Automation business for the Water & Waste Water vertical, you will be responsible for supporting the sales and customer engagement teams throughout the proposal process. This includes preparing technical solutions, cost estimates, tender documentation, and ensuring alignment with customer requirements and internal standards. You will act as a key technical resource for Water industry projects, especially with experience in Government and PSU tenders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand customer requirements and minimum compliance from tender documents.
  • Provide budgetary estimates and propose technically and commercially viable solutions.
  • Contribute to bid decision-making with accurate costing and value-added solutions.
  • Handle Government/PSU tenders and ensure precise tender documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team and customers to develop tailored automation solutions.
  • Manage follow-up for technical and commercial clarifications with customers.
  • Prepare offer documents: BoM, technical compliance sheets, solution assumptions/exclusions, etc.
  • Estimate plant engineering components: I/O basis, cables, cable trays, hookup materials, and erection materials.
  • Develop final pricing and technical proposals for bids.
  • Conduct risk review meetings with management before proposal submission.
  • Independently manage bidding tasks with innovative procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal departments: Procurement, Legal, Finance, Tax, EHS, Export Control, etc.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Electronics / Electronics & Communication / Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
  • Experience:
  • 5–10 years in bid management/tendering for Automation (DCS/PLC/Instrumentation) solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with plant engineering estimates and government tender handling.
  • Understanding of the Water & Waste Water industry standards and market requirements.
  • Prior experience in turnkey bids or project execution is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of Siemens automation products is preferred.
