Job Description
HR Manager — Manganese Steel Foundry (Jaipur)
Company: Shri Vaibhav Metacast Pvt. Ltd. (VMC)
Industry: Manufacturing — High-Manganese Steel Castings (crusher wear parts: jaw plates, concaves, mantles, mill liners)
Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan (on-site, plant-based)
Reports to: Director
Experience: 6–10 years, minimum 4 in a factory / foundry / heavy-engineering plant
Salary: 8–12 lakh CTC per annum, plus a performance-linked variable tied to measurable outcomes
About VMC
VMC is an ISO 9001:2015 certified manganese steel foundry with over two decades of operation, four integrated units in Jaipur and a capacity of 1,200 MT per month, supplying wear parts to the crushing, mining, cement and power industries across India. About 70 staff and roughly 400 workers (direct and contract) are on site. The company is professionalising fast: appraisal scorecards, increment bands and performance incentive schemes are already designed and in use.
The role
This is not a greenfield role and it is not a policy-writing role. The systems exist. We need an HR Manager who makes them run and who makes rules stick on the shop floor — compliance, contract-labour control, safety discipline and recruitment. The role carries real authority to do this: plant security and gate control report to it, and it has management's full backing on enforcement. What we need is someone who uses that authority consistently.
What you will own
Compliance and contract labour (your first priority)
• Every contract worker on site registered, insured and on the contractor's records before entry — no exceptions at the gate
• Monthly collection and verification of contractor PF/ESI challans and compliance certificates; protect VMC as principal employer
• Factories Act, CLRA licence and registers, ESI, EPF, Rajasthan labour-law compliance; handle labour-department inspections
• Weekly compliance audit with a signed checklist to the Director
Safety and plant discipline
• Enforce mandatory PPE (safety shoes, helmets) across all units through the gate, the guards and the camera system — with deductions and disciplinary action where the rule is broken
• Maintain the discipline and misconduct process with proper documentation
Recruitment
• End-to-end hiring for staff and supervisory roles: JD, sourcing (Naukri, LinkedIn, recruiters, referrals), screening, interviews, offer, joining
• A live pipeline for recurring roles — supervisors, quality inspectors, sales executives, accounts
• Structured onboarding so a new joiner is productive in the first week
Running the people systems
• Run the existing appraisal scorecards, supervisor evaluations, increment bands and incentive schemes on calendar — data collection, calibration meetings, letters
• Attendance, leave, employee records, appointment letters and JDs for every employee
• Payroll inputs to accounts: attendance, leave, deductions, PF/ESI for direct staff — accurate and on time
• Grievances handled fairly and fast; exit interviews with findings reported to management
Admin and facilities (through an Admin Incharge reporting to you)
• Office housekeeping, maintenance, AMCs, IT-complaint resolution with a closure SLA, reception, security supervision
Who we are looking for
• 6–10 years in HR, at least 4 of them in a manufacturing plant with contract labour — foundry, forging, steel, cement or heavy engineering preferred
• Has personally handled CLRA/principal-employer compliance, Factories Act inspections, ESI/EPF and plant safety enforcement — not just one of these
• Has run recruitment independently, including for shop-floor and supervisory roles
• Comfortable on the shop floor, at the gate and in front of a contractor who doesn't want to comply
• Direct, firm and fair — can say no to a plant head and to a worker, and document it
• Does not add policies, benefits or entitlements without a written cost sign-off from management
• Proficient in Google Sheets / MS Office; HRMS exposure a plus
• Hindi and English
What we offer
• 8–12 lakh CTC per annum, with a variable component paid on measurable outcomes (contract-labour compliance, safety compliance, recruitment closures, audit results)
• Direct reporting to the Director with real authority over gates, security and contractor payments
• A stable, growing, owner-run manufacturing company with a clear professionalisation agenda
Hiring process
Screening call → one-day on-site round (case discussion on a real compliance/safety situation + interview with the Directors) → reference check → offer. We aim to close within 3 weeks of application.
