The Role
We're not looking for someone who lives in spreadsheets. We need an HR Manager who thrives on the floor someone who understands the pace of resort operations, knows how to build a team from the ground up, and can keep staff motivated, trained, and retained in an industry known for its churn.
You will be the go-to person for everything people-related at The Whispering Woods Resort from sourcing the right talent to ensuring every team member is set up to deliver their best.
What You'll Own
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- End-to-end hiring for all resort departments F&B, housekeeping, front desk, operations, and support staff
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of hospitality talent through job portals, campus connects, and industry networks
- Reduce time-to-hire without compromising on quality of fit
- Conduct structured interviews and coordinate with department heads for final selections
Onboarding & Training
- Design and execute a structured onboarding experience that gets new hires productive and culture-aligned from Day 1
- Coordinate role-specific training with department leads, especially for guest-facing staff
- Identify skill gaps and build internal learning programs to address them
- Ensure grooming standards, service excellence, and brand values are embedded in every new joiner
Staff Operations & Retention
- Manage attendance, shifts, rotational offs, and leave schedules across departments
- Own the full employee lifecycle from joining formalities to exit interviews
- Proactively identify flight risks and work on retention strategies
- Build a culture where staff feel heard, valued, and motivated to stay
Performance & Compliance
- Drive the performance review cycle in coordination with department heads
- Maintain all HR documentation, employment records, and statutory compliance (PF, ESIC, gratuity, etc.)
- Handle grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution with professionalism and fairness
- Ensure the resort operates in full compliance with local labour laws
Culture & People Experience
- Champion a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work culture
- Organise staff engagement initiatives, recognition programmes, and team-building activities
- Serve as the bridge between management and the team approachable, fair, and solutions-driven
You're a Great Fit If You Have
- 35 years of HR experience, ideally within hospitality, resorts, hotels, or F&B
- Hands-on experience with blue-collar and white-collar hiring at scale
- Strong understanding of resort/hotel staff operations and shift-based workforce management
- Solid knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance
- Excellent interpersonal skills someone the team trusts and approaches with confidence
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where no two days look the same
- A proactive mindset you identify and resolve challenges before they escalate
