Job Description: HR Executive

Purpose of the Role

The HR Executive will play a critical people-first role in supporting and strengthening the employee experience at Schbang. This role requires prior exposure to an advertising / media / creative agency environment, with a strong focus on employee engagement, retention, grievance handling, and HR operations, while also supporting end-to-end recruitment for assigned business units.

You will act as a trusted HR partner for employees and managers, ensuring concerns are addressed empathetically, policies are implemented effectively, and a healthy, inclusive, and high-performing work culture is maintained.

What We're Looking For

  • Act as the first point of contact for employees for HR-related concerns, grievances, and people issues
  • Proactively address and resolve employee concerns with empathy, confidentiality, and fairness
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives to improve morale, collaboration, and retention
  • Support retention strategies by identifying early risk indicators and working with managers on action plans
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution in line with company policies
  • Ensure smooth onboarding and employee lifecycle management for assigned business units
  • Maintain regular touchpoints with employees to strengthen trust and workplace satisfaction
  • Ensure adherence to people-first practices and a positive workplace culture HR Policies, Compliance & Governance
    • Be well-versed with company HR policies (Schbanger's Guide) and ensure consistent implementation
    • Ensure compliance with statutory and organisational policies including:
      • POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment)
      • Code of Conduct
      • Anti-Discrimination & Equal Opportunity Policy
      • Leave, Attendance & Working Hours Policy
      • Disciplinary & Grievance Redressal Policy
      • Support POSH committee processes, awareness sessions, and documentation as required
      • Ensure accurate documentation and audit of employee records
      • Source and screen relevant candidates for assigned roles, especially within creative, media, and agency functions
      • Conduct preliminary interviews to assess role fit and cultural alignment
      • Coordinate with hiring managers and SBU Heads to understand talent needs and hiring priorities
      • Manage recruitment timelines (TATs) and ensure a smooth candidate experience
      • Coordinate aptitude tests, assignments, interview schedules, and feedback loops
      • Support offer negotiations within approved budgets and maintain candidate engagement post-offer to reduce dropouts
      • Handle HR operations for assigned business units end-to-end
      • Maintain accurate and updated candidate and employee data in trackers and HR systems
      • Coordinate closely with leadership and managers on people matters and workforce planning
      • Support HR reporting, audits, and internal reviews as required
      • 2.53 years of HR experience, preferably in an advertising, media, or creative agency
      • Strong experience in employee relations, engagement, and grievance handling
      • Working knowledge of POSH and core HR policies
      • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
      • High emotional intelligence with a people-first mindset
      • Ability to manage sensitive situations with confidentiality and professionalism
      • Strong organisational and time-management skills
      • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy agency environment
      • Someone who genuinely believes in people over process
      • An HR professional employees trust and feel comfortable approaching
      • A proactive problem-solver who can balance empathy with business needs
