About the Role

The Head of Marketing & Communications will be responsible for leading and orchestrating communication strategy PAN INDIA with a clear focus on elevating Sodexo's reputation in the areas of sustainability (Planet & People), employer brand and modern premium food experience offering.

The role requires strong strategic communication vision and leadership drive that will help make communication a key asset in the successful execution of the India roadmap, so as to ensure effective contribution of the India to the Region's Ambition.

It particularly entails strong ability to positively cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, including business leaders, clients and partners, media and other key opinion leaders. It also requires excellent management skills to (re)build and lead a strong communication professional family that effectively serves the business.

The person shall be shaping and executing Sodexo India's brand, marketing, and communication strategy to drive enterprise growth across food services, facilities management, and workplace experience solutions. This role demands a seasoned marketing leader with strong retail business expertise, capable of translating consumer insights into impactful brand strategies, while ensuring alignment with Sodexo's global purpose-led identity.

Key Responsibilities:

Orchestrate service development resources

  • Orchestrate service development.
  • Chair Brands and Service committee for India.
  • Arbitrate development resources across segments.

Provide segments marketing with regional capabilities

  • Digital lead generation and digital marketing regional capabilities (MSDC, country websites management and optimization)
  • Marketing technology management (including technologies for digital marketing, CRM, sales activation technologies etc.)
  • Brands performance measurement tools and CCX measurement.
  • Retail capabilities/tools/methodologies, including 2C pricing.
  • Content creation regional capabilities.
  • Digital product management for regional / cross segment digital products.

Marketing professional family

  • Promote strong marketing professional family and community within India.
  • Support upskilling of inhouse marketing people (training, methodologies, etc.)
  • Represent the India marketing family to Country Leadership Team.

Internal and External Communications

  • Accountable for the execution of communications strategies that address business issues; continually revitalize the brand and engage with country and global stakeholders.
  • Partner and work with the country and global communication teams to ensure effective roll out of campaigns.
  • Activate and manage internal and external social media platforms to raise greater awareness about the brand.
  • Spokesman of digital transformation across the organization.

Specific context challenges

  • Anticipate, via clients and consumer's insights and new business models, a trend watch /competition on the opportunities and risks.
  • Propose necessary changes in the organization and skills to set the necessary levers to key enablers to design and develop services, pricing, and marketing content.
  • Ensuring continuous innovation to anticipate and react to changing market needs.
  • Represent Sodexo in partnering with and developing strong external relationships to achieve business outcomes.

Accountability

  • Financial results: Revenue Growth, UOP/Profitability, Client Retention
  • Profitable business growth aligned to the business roadmap.
  • People: Employee engagement, ready now successors, retention rates, internal movements and development for key job positions.
  • Risks & Liabilities: Hold legal representation & liabilities of Sodexo.

Reporting lines

  • Reports to Chief Growth Officer for India

Desired Profile

Education: MBA/PGDM in Marketing, Communications, or related field.

Experience:

  • 15–20 years of progressive experience in marketing, branding and communications within large, complex and preferably international service-led organizations, with exposure to multi-segment business environments
  • Proven ability to drive business growth and revenue impact through integrated marketing strategies, with strong ownership of P&L, profitability and commercial outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience in leading end-to-end marketing ecosystems including brand strategy, digital marketing, content, Tech, customer engagement and communications
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business priorities into scalable marketing initiatives across diverse industries and segments
  • Deep understanding of marketing technologies, digital transformation and data-led decision making, with the ability to build and optimize marketing infrastructure
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and align cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization
  • Strong track record of building, leading and evolving high-performing teams, including capability building and organizational transformation
  • High level of business acumen, with credibility to operate as a strategic partner to leadership and contribute to overall business performance
  • Expertise in crafting compelling narratives and driving consistent brand positioning across internal and external channels
  • Strong orientation towards governance, performance measurement and outcomes, with a disciplined, results-driven approach
  • Awareness of broader business impact levers including sustainability, social responsibility and long-term value creation
