About The Role
A premier, multi-location fitness and bouldering brand is seeking its first dedicated Marketing Lead to build a strategic, measurable, and genuinely growth-driving marketing function. Currently, marketing responsibilities are fragmented across several team members; this role consolidates those efforts under a single owner with comprehensive, cross-facility scope.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will act as the ultimate custodian of the brand identity, design full-funnel marketing strategies, build out a robust measurement infrastructure, and direct creative and performance media execution. You will step into a role backed by an established audience and active brand presence, focusing your efforts on transforming existing activity into strategic, data-driven growth outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand Strategy & Identity: Act as the strategic gatekeeper of how the brand looks, sounds, and is perceived across all current and future regional locations. Review and evolve the quarterly brand strategy using evidence-based performance insights, and maintain comprehensive brand guidelines to ensure total visual and verbal consistency across internal stakeholders.
- Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management: Plan, own, and publish a structured, objective-led monthly marketing calendar spanning the full consumer funnel. Map out detailed campaign briefs, establish key performance metrics, manage execution workflows, and optimize active campaign configurations mid-flight based on real-time performance tracking.
- Marketing Measurement & Growth System: Build, maintain, and systematically refine a full-funnel measurement infrastructure tracking awareness, acquisition, trial conversions, member retention, and referral metrics. Update a live weekly performance dashboard, proactively analyze any core KPIs dropping below target, and deliver comprehensive monthly performance reviews to leadership.
- Digital & Community Marketing (15% Weight): Coordinate a consistent, high-impact digital channel presence across social media, community groups, email, and localized broadcast communications. Manage the weekly digital content strategy, respond to community engagement within strict service windows, and ensure content themes directly drive awareness or community depth.
- Member Acquisition & Retention Marketing: Design and execute localized monthly acquisition campaigns built around specific audience definitions, targeted offers, and tracking links. Partner with cross-functional facility operations to track trial-to-member conversion rates and execute targeted re-engagement communications to minimize member churn.
- Events, Partnerships, & Vendor Management: Direct pre-event promotion calendars, day-of coverage frameworks, and post-event highlight loops while capturing channel attendance attribution. Identify and nurture strategic B2B marketing partnerships (fitness brands, local businesses, corporate wellness) to scale organic reach.
- Agency & Execution Direction: Serve as the primary, high-context point of contact for external vendors. Write technical creative briefs for the Creative Agency, restricting feedback cycles to protect timelines. Oversee the Performance Ads Agency by setting paid media budget strategies, auditing tactical ad setups, and optimizing cost-per-result tracking across Meta and Google.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Professional Background: Prior experience working within a creative or digital marketing agency environment, ideally with direct experience managing or executing fitness, community, or experiential consumer brand accounts.
- Strategic Funnel Tracking: Proven capability to construct marketing performance dashboards and demonstrate sharp operational knowledge of multi-location data capture (attribution links, booking integrations, and customer databases).
- Agency Management & Briefing: Demonstrated experience writing technical creative briefs, enforcing strict brand boundaries, and managing external vendor project timelines through clear revision guardrails.
- Paid Media Oversight: Experience collaborating with performance agencies, establishing paid media budget architectures, and directing tactical adjustments (creative refreshes, audience tightening) across Meta and Google Ads spaces.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Strong relational capability to coordinate strategies with facility leads, creative stakeholders, and executive leadership without relying on rigid line management.
