What You'll Do

Phase 1 - ITBP embedded

Hands-on automation leadership for ServiceNow & beyond

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test suites across UI, workflow, notification, and API layers within ServiceNow HRSD, ITSM, and Customer Service Management
  • Develop negative and edge-case scenarios to validate confidentiality-sensitive workflows (e.g., HR and ER case handling)
  • Expand automation coverage for high-risk modules and frequently used forms across ServiceNow platforms
  • Provide automation guidance and best practice support for AVA (IT Support chatbot - conversational flow, integration, and UI) and SaaS platforms including Jira and Confluence
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and release gating processes
  • Troubleshoot, refactor, and improve stability of existing automation frameworks

Automation architecture & strategy

  • Define and evolve the automation roadmap for ITBP, ensuring scalability and maintainability across platforms
  • Establish traceability between configuration objects and automated coverage
  • Support risk-based regression modeling aligned to platform complexity and change frequency
  • Partner with platform teams to improve testability of workflows, notifications, and integrations

Confidentiality & governance controls

  • Collaborate with engineering, InfoSec, and Data Protection to identify confidentiality-critical (Tier-0) fields and workflows
  • Ensure automated guardrails are in place to prevent exposure of sensitive data across roles and workflows
  • Support integration of change-management controls requiring automated coverage for new configuration objects referencing sensitive data

Ongoing - CoE Capability Lead

Program-wide automation standards

  • Own and govern test automation best practices across all 200+ product teams in the QE program
  • Define the program-wide automation framework strategy, tooling catalog, and CI/CD integration standards
  • Establish reusable patterns and reference implementations that embedded QEs can adopt across portfolios
  • Partner with the Agentic QE capability squad to ensure automation standards evolve in step with AI-native practices

Test execution platform ownership

  • Own the program-wide strategy for test execution infrastructure - including cloud-based device and browser platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, LambdaTest, SauceLabs, BitBar), self-hosted runners, containerized execution environments (e.g., Docker), and CI/CD-integrated execution pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
  • Evaluate, select, and govern the execution platforms used across the QE program, balancing cost, coverage, and maintainability
  • Define standards for execution environment consistency to reduce flakiness and improve reliability across portfolios
  • Partner with platform and infrastructure teams on custom execution solutions where off-the-shelf tooling does not meet program needs

Test environment & data strategy

  • Define standards for test environment provisioning, stability, and parity with production
  • Own the program-wide test data management strategy - including data masking, synthetic data generation, and environment-specific data governance
  • Partner with platform and infrastructure teams to improve environment reliability and reduce environment-related test failures across portfolios

Coaching & community

  • Serve as the program's foremost authority on test automation craft - mentoring QEs, chapter leads, and developers across portfolios
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and communities of practice around automation, execution platforms, and environment best practices
  • Partner with the QE Enterprise Chapter (QEEC) capability squad to ensure best practices are packaged into training curricula and onboarding programs

What You'll Bring

Experience

  • 8-12+ years in Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or Software Engineering
  • Demonstrated success leading automation efforts for complex enterprise systems (ERP, SaaS platforms, ServiceNow, SAP, or equivalent)
  • Experience building scalable regression suites across integrated workflows
  • Experience defining or governing automation standards beyond a single team or portfolio
  • Experience in confidentiality-sensitive or compliance-heavy domains preferred

Technical skills

  • Strong hands-on expertise with automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, ServiceNow ATF, or equivalent)
  • Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of risk-based testing, regression strategy, and negative test design
  • Familiarity with test data management practices including masking, synthetic data, and environment governance
  • Hands-on experience with test execution platforms such as BrowserStack, LambdaTest, SauceLabs, or BitBar
  • Experience with containerized test execution (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD-integrated runners (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
  • Familiarity with SaaS configuration-driven platforms and workflow engines
  • Exposure to observability or synthetic monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog) preferred

Leadership & influence

  • Ability to operate as both hands-on contributor and program-wide standards authority
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder communication skills
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Comfort operating in high-visibility, high-accountability environments
