Finance Lead

Coding Ninjas was founded by Ankush Singla, Kannu Mittal, and Dhawal Parate, dawning from an educational background of IITs and Stanford who bring onboard their rich working experience in companies like Amazon, Facebook, Cars24, and other top startups in India. As pioneers in EdTech, we are continuously working on curating student-centric learning programs and are progressing towards becoming the de facto coding education company in India.

The company has raised more than 22 Million USD to date and is a subsidiary of InfoEdge (Naukri.com, IIMJobs, Jeevansathi, etc.) with the latter, acquiring a majority stake in Coding Ninjas.

With our exhaustive learning programs, 1:1 mentor support for effective doubt resolution, and over 400+ doubts being resolved per hour, our focus lies on crafting learning experiences that equip candidates with learning, application, and demonstration of capabilities in the software development domain.

A lot about you:

As the Finance Lead, you will be responsible for driving financial strategy, strengthening operational rigor, and building scalable finance processes to support our next phase of growth.

This role goes beyond traditional finance - you will act as a strategic partner to leadership, bringing data-driven insights to optimize business performance, ensure compliance, and enable sustainable scaling.

Key Responsibilities –

Financial Strategy & Planning

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process with accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare standalone financial statements in accordance with applicable Ind AS/statutory requirements.
• Manage group reporting packs for submission to listed parent company.
• Ensure reconciliations of all balance sheet and key P&L accounts.
• Drive reporting calendars and close discipline across functions.

Controllership

• Own end-to-end finance controllership for India entity.
• Strengthen internal financial controls, SOPs, delegation matrix and governance processes.
• Ensure accounting treatment for complex transactions, revenue recognition, provisions, accruals and inter company matters.
• Maintain robust fixed asset, payroll, receivables and payable controls.

Compliance, Audit & Governance

• Manage statutory audit, internal audit, tax audit and parent company auditor requirements.
• Act as key counterpart to Big 4 / external auditors and ensure timely closure of audit queries.
• Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance in coordination with tax advisors.
• Ensure Companies Act and secretarial finance-related compliances.

Parent Company / Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with listed parent company finance team for reporting, controls and policy alignment.
• Support board / audit committee materials as required.
• Ensure implementation of group accounting policies and reporting standards.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team
• Lead and mentor accounting / finance operations team

What We're Looking For:

• Chartered Accountant mandatory.
• 7–10 years of post-qualification experience.
• Big 4 audit background strongly preferred.
• Experience in listed company / listed subsidiary reporting environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Ind AS, Companies Act, audits, controls and reporting.
• Ability to manage auditors and senior stakeholders confidently.
