Role Overview
We are looking for a qualified
Chartered Accountant (CA) to lead the Finance & Accounts function. The role will be responsible for financial planning, compliance, reporting, and strategic decision support in a fast-paced, high-growth environment typical of entertainment or e-commerce businesses.
Key Responsibilities1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee end-to-end accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, payroll)
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures
- Prepare financial statements in compliance with Ind AS / IFRS
- Manage revenue recognition (especially important for subscription, ads, or marketplace models)
- Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory regulations
- Handle assessments, audits, and notices from tax authorities
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure smooth audit closures
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Provide actionable insights on:
- Customer acquisition cost (CAC)
- Lifetime value (LTV)
- Content/production ROI (for entertainment)
- Unit economics (for e-commerce)
- Support leadership with financial modeling and scenario planning
- Business Finance & Strategy
- Partner with product, marketing, and operations teams
- Evaluate new business initiatives, partnerships, and investments
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and profitability
- Process & System Improvement
- Strengthen internal controls and financial processes
- Implement or optimize ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Zoho)
- Drive automation in reporting and reconciliations
- Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the finance & accounts team
- Build scalable finance processes for growth-stage companies
Key Requirements- CA (Chartered Accountant) – Mandatory
- 5–10+ years of experience in Entertainment, Media, OTT, or E-Commerce
- Strong understanding of:
- Revenue models (ads, subscriptions, marketplace commissions)
- High-volume transaction environments
- Experience with financial modeling and data-driven decision-making
- Proficiency in Excel + ERP systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Good to Have
- Experience in startup or high-growth companies
- Exposure to fundraising, due diligence, or investor reporting
- Knowledge of data tools (Power BI, Tableau)
