Job Summary
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment at customer sites. This role involves diagnosing technical issues, performing preventive maintenance, training users, and ensuring high customer satisfaction. The FSE acts as the company's face in the field and is critical in ensuring equipment uptime and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission equipment/systems at customer locations.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on customer equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, mechanical, and/or software issues on site.
- Diagnose and repair faults using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Provide on-site training to customers on the correct use and maintenance of the equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, parts used, time spent, and resolutions.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, parts, sales) to escalate complex issues or order spare parts.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies during field operations.
- Provide feedback to product development teams on recurring customer problems or improvement areas.
- Travel to customer sites as needed and manage the logistics of service calls.
- Maintain a stock of commonly used spare parts and tools in the service vehicle (if applicable).
Qualifications / Skills
