Position Overview
Kanakia International School, Mira Road, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic
English & Social Studies Teacher for the
Primary Section (Grades 1 to 5). The ideal candidate should be skilled in creating a nurturing and engaging classroom environment while delivering the ICSE curriculum effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English and Social Studies to students of Grades 1 to 5 as per ICSE guidelines
- Plan and deliver interactive, age-appropriate lesson plans
- Develop students reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills in English
- Introduce basic concepts of History, Geography, and Civics through creative activities
- Use stories, role plays, projects, and visual aids to enhance learning
- Assess students progress through worksheets, tests, and projects
- Maintain academic records and prepare progress reports
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding students academic and behavioral progress
- Participate in school meetings, training programs, and school events
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English / Social Studies or related field
- B.Ed / D.Ed mandatory
- Minimum 2–4 years of teaching experience (ICSE experience preferred)
- Strong command over English (spoken and written)
- Good classroom management and child-handling skills
