Job Description

Digital Marketing Manager  – SaaS Product SEO / AEO 

Experience: 7–12 Years 

Location: Remote (Work from Home) 

Employment Type: Full-time

Educational Qualification: Bachelor degree in Engineering from Tier I/Master's degree from Tier I 

Role Overview: Lead product SEO and AEO/GEO for a SaaS platform, partnering with Product Marketing on new product launches and brand messaging, and driving measurable growth across Google SERPs and AI answer engines through scalable content, technical SEO, and entity-first optimization. 

Success Metrics (example targets): Define and report weekly on non-brand organic signups/MQLs, top-3 ranking gains, organic share-of-voice in priority clusters (including launch pages), AI-citation wins (AI Overviews/ChatGPT/Gemini/Perplexity), and brand lift signals such as branded search growth and direct traffic contribution.

Role Summary & Requirements:

You will own SEO growth for a SaaS product—improving existing rankings, expanding high-intent keyword coverage, and increasing visibility in AI answer engines via structured content, entities, and technical excellence.

Must-have experience:

  • Scaled already-ranking pages (e.g., top 10 → top 3) through on-page, internal linking, and intent/CTR improvements
  • Built and executed keyword cluster expansion around existing winners to grow qualified organic pipeline
  • Delivered measurable visibility in AI answer engines (AI Overviews/ChatGPT/Gemini/Perplexity) using structured data + entity optimization
  • Operated in a product + engineering environment (shipping technical SEO fixes, templates, and scalable content systems)

Core competencies:

  • Intent mapping across SaaS funnels (product-led, solutions, comparisons) with clear page-to-keyword ownership
  • Internal linking and information architecture to strengthen topical clusters
  • Content briefs, editorial QA, and experimentation (titles/FAQs/modules) to lift rankings and conversions

Technical SEO (hands-on or strongly partnered with engineering):

  • Crawl/index control, templates, and site architecture improvements that move rankings
  • JavaScript rendering and performance (Core Web Vitals) diagnostics and fixes with dev teams
  • Schema/structured data strategy (e.g., Product, FAQ, HowTo, Breadcrumb, Organization) to improve SERP + AI readability

AEO / GEO (AI Search Optimization):

  • Create citation-ready pages: clear entities, definitions, comparisons, and evidence blocks; consistent product terminology across the site
  • Implement/validate structured data and on-page modules that increase extraction (FAQs, steps, specs, pricing/plan tables where applicable)
  • Measure AI visibility via tracked prompts/queries, citation mentions, and overlap with priority clusters—then iterate content and schema
  • Interview expectation: bring one example of an AEO/SEO experiment or case study (problem → approach → results → learnings)

Brand & product launch:

  • Partner with Product Marketing on new product launches: positioning, naming/terminology, launch pages, and message consistency across web properties
  • Build launch-ready content systems (landing page templates, comparison pages, FAQs, proof blocks) that support both brand trust and conversion
  • Nice-to-have: experience running or collaborating on paid acquisition (search/social) and using insights to improve organic + AI visibility

Leadership & operating model:

  • Lead analysts and content partners with clear priorities, QA standards, and weekly reporting
  • Run a monthly roadmap across content, technical SEO, and AEO/GEO initiatives with measurable outcomes
  • Coach execution and ensure repeatable systems (briefs, templates, internal linking rules, dashboards)

Responsibilities:

  • Own the SEO + AEO/GEO roadmap for SaaS acquisition across Google and AI answer engines
  • Improve performance of existing ranking pages (top 10 → top 3 where strategic) and expand clusters to grow qualified pipeline
  • Partner with engineering on technical SEO (crawl/index, templates, CWV, JS rendering, structured data)
  • Build topical authority via digital PR/backlinks and partner content where it supports product growth
  • Support new product launches with SEO/AEO-ready messaging and launch pages; align with Product Marketing on brand narrative and terminology
  • Set measurement: dashboards for rankings, non-brand traffic, conversions, and AI citations; communicate insights to stakeholders
  • Manage team execution, quality, and delivery cadence in an AI-first search environment

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years in SEO for SaaS or product-led businesses; experience owning outcomes (traffic, pipeline, signups)
  • Demonstrated wins improving already-ranking pages and expanding keyword clusters with clear measurement
  • Hands-on with Google Search Console, GA4, and at least one major SEO suite (Ahrefs/SEMrush) plus crawler tools (e.g., Screaming Frog)
  • Strong technical SEO fundamentals and ability to partner with developers to ship fixes
  • Practical exposure to AEO/GEO with a repeatable approach to improving AI citations/mentions
  • Nice-to-have experience with paid search / performance marketing collaboration (ads copy, landing page testing, incrementality) to accelerate launches
  • People leadership: hiring/coaching, prioritization, and stakeholder communication
