2. Role PurposeThe Contract Manager – Engineering oversees all engineering-related contracts (main contracts, sub-contracts, EPC, design, and technical services) from tendering to project close-out. This role ensures contracts are clearly defined, effectively negotiated, and rigorously administered to minimize risks while enabling engineering and project teams to deliver on time, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Drafting, Negotiation, and Administration
o Prepare, review, and negotiate engineering and construction contracts, sub-contracts, technical agreements, and service agreements.
o Ensure scope of work, technical specifications, schedules, payment terms, risk allocation, and liabilities align with company standards.
o Maintain a central contract register, including amendments, variations, and renewals.
2. Tendering and Procurement Support
o Assist engineering and procurement teams in preparing tender documents, RFQs, and RFPs for contractors, consultants, and vendors (e.g., structural, MEP, civil, specialist contractors).
o Evaluate technical and commercial bids, lead negotiations, and recommend contract awards to management.
3. Variations, Claims, and Change Orders
o Manage variation and change order processes: review engineer's instructions, scope changes, and claims for time/cost.
o Prepare/submit or respond to contractual claims (e.g., extensions of time, compensation events, prolongation costs) with project and engineering teams.
4. Compliance, Risk, and Dispute Management
o Ensure contracts comply with statutory regulations, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
o Identify commercial/contractual risks, maintain a risk register, and advise teams on mitigation.
o Support dispute resolution involving engineers, contractors, vendors, and clients.
5. Coordination with Engineering and Project Teams
o Serve as the primary commercial/contractual interface between engineering and external parties.
o Attend site/engineering meetings to monitor progress, clarify obligations, and ensure execution per contract and drawings.
o Liaise with design/site engineers on technical clarifications and non-conformities.
6. Reporting and Documentation
o Deliver monthly reports on commercial status, cost-to-complete, claims, and key risks.
o Maintain comprehensive records of correspondence, notices, instructions, and claims.

· Time management5. Educational Qualifications· Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Civil/Construction Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction/Project Management, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualification: B.E. Civil
