Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Manager Sales will be responsible for driving revenue growth by promoting and selling the company's Retail Billing and POS software solutions to retail businesses. This role involves developing sales strategies, leading the sales team, managing field sales operations, and building strong relationships with retail customers such as supermarkets, pharmacies, garment stores, and multi-store chains. The candidate will also coordinate with marketing teams, manage leads through CRM, and provide market insights to support product improvements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets
  • Identify and target new retail segments and markets for billing and POS software solutions
  • Generate new business opportunities and continuously expand the customer base
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets consistently

2. Team Management

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to achieve performance goals
  • Set individual sales targets and monitor team performance through regular reviews
  • Conduct ongoing training sessions on product knowledge, sales techniques, and objection handling
  • Support the team in closing key deals and personally manage major client negotiations

3. Field Sales & Travel

  • Actively participate in field sales activities including client meetings, demos, and presentations
  • Travel to different cities and regions to engage retail customers and channel partners
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with retail store owners and key decision-makers

4. Marketing Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team on campaigns, events, and product promotions
  • Provide ground-level sales insights to sharpen marketing strategies and messaging
  • Represent the company at exhibitions, retail trade events, and product launch activities

5. Lead Management & CRM

  • Manage incoming leads and ensure timely, structured follow-ups at every pipeline stage
  • Track and manage the full sales pipeline using CRM tools (Salesforce, Zoho, HubSpot, etc.)
  • Ensure accurate documentation of customer interactions, deal stages, and sales activities

6. Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare regular sales reports covering pipeline status, revenue forecasts, and KPIs
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, patterns, and growth opportunities
  • Present performance reports and strategic recommendations to senior management

7. Product Feedback & Market Insights

  • Collect and synthesize customer feedback and share actionable insights with the product team
  • Monitor competitor products and emerging trends in retail billing and POS technology
  • Recommend product enhancements and new feature priorities based on market demand

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • 7+ years of experience in B2B software or technology sales, preferably in retail tech or SaaS
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in competitive markets
  • Strong understanding of retail operations — POS, billing workflows, inventory, and store management
  • Experience managing and scaling a field sales team across multiple geographies
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable with data-driven decision-making and CRM-based pipeline management
  • Willingness to travel extensively across cities and regions as required
